“ Excellent bakery! Everything I have ordered here has been great, from croissants to scones to muffins. I also enjoy their vegetarian soups. The pizza is not worth it imo, on the oily side. ”

“ The most beautiful breads and desserts at very good prices. There are already a few of these around - so that says something about its popularity. I love the designs on all the breads. I think these might be the most beautiful breads in the bay. I suppose a good idea to go here if you want something that looks particularly nice for a family dinner on the holidays. Very good prices. I'm very impressed with the prices here. I suppose it has something to do with the special ownership - I'm not exactly sure how it works - but people who want a fresh loaf of bread at down to earth prices - this is where you go. I think out of laziness people now do all their shopping at one lousy grocery store. You get your bread, lunch meats and desserts as well as oil and wiper blades for you car - all in one spot. Back in the day I remember my grandmother making the extra effort to go to an authentic European butcher shop for meats and then another trip for the best cakes and breads... And I get it - not everybody has time for this - but once in a while - I think its important - especially for special occasions. Overall, there are better bakeries with more variety - I suppose the one thing I keep trying to find is that one item I like here better than anywhere else - and I have yet to find that. ”

“ Better Than Church The frosted cinnamon rolls are creamy, soft, not-too-sweet, paired with the perfect coffee, not too bitter but bold. Arizmendi staff are efficient, one person runs all the registers AND chases pigeons out of the store. Sometimes I bring my own butter dish, cutting board and coffee cup and sit in the car and read on a rainy day. ”

But today, I finally did : ) First and foremost, stuffs are very welcoming and friendly. All the bakeries are fresh and tasty. Needless to say, my drink(I ordered Mocha) was Amazing!!! Milk was so smooth, creamy and espresso was flavorful(I am a huge coffee lover and very picky when it comes down to the coffee). I will most definitely stop by again, and try other baked goods too. ”

Chewy, rich, and balanced with just the right crisp on the outside. They nail that elusive texture-flavor balance we sought. Stock up when you go; you'll want more than just one. Not-so-coincidentally, they sell pre-bagged bundles of these treats. The daily pizza is just as impressive and easily one of my favorite pizzas in the East Bay. Their pizzas are creative, gourmet, and elevated, and really highlight the fresh, seasonal produce paired with perfectly chosen cheeses. The flavor combinations are thoughtful and on point, making every bite feel special--even as a daily offering! Note: The slices are a bit on the smaller side, so don't hesitate to grab a few (or just order a whole pie). Arizmendi is a gem. “ This place reminds me of Cheeseboard Pizza in Berkeley. Both offer 1 flavor-of-the-day vegan pizza each day. No other flavor is offered that day. I believe both businesses are employee-owned. It's a bargain meal. You get a heated, wonderfully tasty extra crunchy thin "single" slice for the bargain price of just $3.75. I put single in quotes as they give an additional 1 or 2 slivers of bonus pizza on top of the 1 slice. I'll definitely visit again. ”

“ Nut Allergy Warning: Call in before you order; they do have pastries with peanuts and walnuts and occasionally do a pizza with pine nuts, so allergies beware! I have a severe nut allergy and was able to try their pizza. Review is for take-out that a friend brought over. Maybe one of the best vegetarian pizzas I've ever had. The crust still remains crispy as a thin crust after short travel. I had a special with Yellow squash, zucchini, red bell peppers, yellow onions, feta, mozzarella. The sourdough bread is excellent and the mozzarella is a perfect cheese to not be too greasy. It was very sharable for a light lunch for three people. ”

“ I became a fan of Cheeseboard pastries and pizza after being a student at Cal. The oat scone has always been my favorite-hearty and buttery. For some reason I've always thought the pizza was better at Cheeseboard though vs here, otherwise the pastries taste the same. Since Cheeseboard is out of the way sometimes, I'll hit up Arizmendi since it's the same co-op with closer locations and the same great baked goods. And, with $2 at about coffee cup-what's not to love? There's no better way to start the morning than with a cup of coffee and a pastry! ”
